Abstract
Objectives: This study aims to analyze the impact of social inequality on the spread of epidemics through a comparative study of the novels al-Maṣābīḥ al-Zurq by Ḥanā Mīnah and al-Wabā' by Hānī al-Rāhib, aiming to address the research gap regarding the interaction between social factors and public health. Methods: The study employs a descriptive-analytical approach to literary texts, relying on close critical reading, content analysis, and narrative analysis, supported by a systematic review of relevant literature. Results: The study found that social inequality exacerbates the spread of epidemics and weakens the resilience of vulnerable groups, while social support plays a pivotal role in strengthening community resilience during health crises. Conclusions: The study concludes that addressing social inequality is a strategic step toward improving public health. Its scientific contribution lies in providing a new understanding of social relation dynamics and their impact on health, recommending that future research expands the scope and incorporates quantitative data to strengthen these qualitative findings.
