Abstract
Objectives: This study aims to examine the symbolism of life and death as embodied in place-specifically the city of Gaza-in the novel Gaza: The Resurrection of Noah by Nasrin Shahdah Al-Madhoun. It adopts a descriptive-analytical approach to uncover the symbolic and aesthetic dimensions of Gaza as a central narrative space and an active entity in shaping the narrative. Methods: The study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach by examining textual corpora that depict the spaces of Gaza (both closed and open), then analyzing their symbolic and aesthetic connotations and relating them to the narrative context of war, in order to reveal how real-life tragedy is transformed into an artistic vision that embodies the will to live. Conclusions: The study concluded that the city of Gaza was not merely a geographical backdrop to the events; rather, it played a profound role in constructing meaning, shaping the trajectory of the characters, and reinforcing Palestinian identity in the face of genocide and displacement.
