Abstract
Objectives: This research aims to study the optional grammatical transformations in the collection "To the One I Love" by the poet Samir Qudaisat, through the analysis of the poetic sentences that included fronting, delaying or deletion, in light of the theory of the Western linguist (Chomsky) generative and transformational grammar, to reveal the rhetorical meanings that the poetic sentences aim for. Methods: The research adopted the semantic analytical method, relying on the tools of optional transformational theory and the principles of Arabic grammar. Conclusions: The research concluded that the poet Samir Qudaisat skillfully employed optional grammatical transformations, evident in his precise poetic expressions and rhetorical devices. The study revealed a clear intersection between the tools of contemporary optional transformational grammar theory and the poet's rhetorical techniques, encouraging researchers to conduct new studies analyzing contemporary poetry models according to Chomsky's generative-transformational theory.
