Abstract
Objectives: The study aims to highlight the human emotions that appear in women's elegiac poetry, to clarify the role of the poet in formulating the discourse of elegy and expressing her pains and sorrows, and to reveal the women's poetic terms used in elegies. Methods: To achieve the desired goal, the researcher investigated theories of psychology and applied them to women's elegiac poetry by showing the psychological state of a woman if she lost a dear man from among the relatives or others. Conclusions: The study concluded by discovering the psychological complexes that afflicted the female poet if she lost a man, whether he was a relative or a stranger. She felt an inferiority complex and resorted to compensating for this deficiency. She felt a guilt complex because she could not protect him, so she called for revenge. She was afflicted with a complex of anxiety and fear, fearing that death would befall another man from her tribe.
