Abstract
Objectives: This study aimed to examine the impact of soft skills and their dimensions (self-marketing, critical thinking, networking, and job-hunting skills) on employee selection. Methods: A descriptive-analytical approach was employed, using a questionnaire as the primary data collection tool. The sample consisted of 250 employees from the Landmark Group in Saudi Arabia (KSA). Results: The study revealed several findings, including that both the level of soft skills practice and the effectiveness of employee selection in the company were high. A statistically significant impact was found for the combined dimensions of soft skills on employee selection. However, self-marketing skills did not show a statistically significant effect on employee selection. Conclusions: The study recommended enhancing soft skills within the company through the development of internal training programs aimed at improving performance and achieving organizational objectives. It also suggested updating recruitment policies to include soft skills alongside technical skills, thereby attracting well-rounded talent. Furthermore, the study proposed adopting soft skills as a key recruitment criterion by designing clear indicators for each skill to enhance the employee selection process in alignment with the company's strategic goals.
