Abstract
Objectives: This study aims to highlight the rulings uniquely attributed to both Sibawayh and Ibn Hisham, along with the reasons for directing these rulings toward the dialects. It also aims to show the extent to which they use these provisions, approximately. Identifying those that were frequently employed by one and scarcely or not at all by the other. Methodology: The research relies on the descriptive analytical approach, collecting the most prominent rulings that each of them mentioned, and I also explained the reasons for directing them. I sometimes confirmed the times when both of them mentioned a verdict, to demonstrate the differences in their usage rates. I have limited myself to providing one or two examples of dialectal features to avoid prolixity. Conclusion: The study concludes with the following findings: The primary criterion for both scholars in judging dialects is their conformity with or deviation from analogy, the study highlights Sibawayh's attention to factors such as continuity, frequency of usage, clarity of meaning, and consistency, while Ibn Hisham's approach relies heavily on the Qur'an and its readings in prioritizing languages, there is no correlation between the quality or deficiency of a language and the tribe to which its speakers belong; judgments are directed toward the language as it diverges from the original norm, not toward its speakers.
