Abstract

Objectives: This study aims to analyze the critical project of Mohammed Abed Al-Jabri by tracing his philosophical visions and his deconstruction of the structure of the Arab mind in light of tradition and modernity. It also seeks to assess Al-Jabri’s impact on contemporary Arab thought and to clarify the extent to which his theses have contributed to reshaping the relationship between the Arab past and the intellectual requirements of the present. Methods: This study adopted a critical-analytical approach employing the tools of understanding, deconstruction, and interpretation, with the aim of providing a comprehensive examination of Mohammed Abed Al-Jabri's project on the critique of Arab reason. It seeks to uncover the epistemological and methodological foundations upon which his work is built, as well as to trace his intellectual trajectories in addressing the issues of heritage and modernity within the Arab-Islamic context. Results: The results revealed that Al-Jabri's project represents a serious intellectual attempt to overcome cognitive stagnation, through his call for a rational and critical reading of heritage that distinguishes between what is enduring and what should be surpassed, without falling into Western dependency or breaking with authenticity. Conclusions: The conclusion emphasizes that this project constitutes an important cornerstone in the context of modern Arab thought, as it provides a clear call to reconstruct Arab reason on modern epistemological foundations, accommodating modernity without denying the past, and restoring to heritage its vital role in shaping consciousness and the future.
