The effect of a group counseling program on improving the psychological hardness among teachers of students with learning disabilities at Sultanate of Oman

Abstract
This study aims at identifying the effect of a group counseling program on improving the psychological hardness among female teachers of learning disabilities in Al Batinah South Governorate at Sultanate of Oman. The current researchers used the semi-empirical design (control and experimental groups). Psychological hardness instrument (Mukhimer, 2002) was used. The study sample consists of (16) female teachers of students with learning disabilities who were selected as purpose sample, who had low hardness in pretest. The researchers divided (16) respondents randomly into control and experimental groups, each group included 8 teachers. The experimental group received group counseling program prepared by researchers, which include 12 sessions, one session weekly. In the posttest, the study results showed that there was significant difference in the level of the psychological hardness between the control and experimental group in favor of respondents into experimental group. In addition, the study results showed that there was no significant difference in the level of the psychological hardness between the post and follow-up tests among experimental group respondents. These results indicated that, the proposed counseling program was effect on improving the psychological hardness among teacher of learning disabilities.
