Abstract
Objectives: The study aimed to investigate the impact of using AI-based educational applications on improving reading fluency in Arabic for elementary school students. The study included 628 students from grades 2 to 5 in Riyadh schools, distributed across 30 classrooms. Participants were purposefully selected to enable researchers to control the study procedures. Methods: The quasi-experimental approach was employed as it was deemed the most suitable to achieve the study objectives. The AI-supported "Reading Progress" application, integrated within Microsoft Teams, was implemented and compared to traditional teaching methods to enhance reading fluency among students from grades 2 to 5 in Saudi Arabia. Results: The findings revealed statistically significant differences in student performance in favor of the group that used the AI-supported "Reading Progress" application within Microsoft Teams. Conclusions: The researchers recommend training teachers on the use of the AI-supported "Reading Progress" application to enhance reading fluency in elementary school students.
