The Importance of using Facebook in teaching first-grade high school students from the perspective of computer teachers at Jizan region in Saudi Arabia

Abstract
The study aimed to identify the importance of using facebook in teaching first-grade high school students from the perspective of computer teachers at Jizan Region in Saudi Arabia. The study followed the descriptive approach, and the study sample included (147) computer teachers. To collect the data, a questionnaire was designed for the importance of using facebook in planning, implementing and evaluating the teaching of the computer and information technology course. The results of the study revealed that using facebook in planning to teach first-grade high school students is important (M= 4.12), while using facebook in implementing to teach firstgrade high school students is more important (M= 4.31) as well as using facebook in evaluating to teach firstgrade high school students is more important (M= 4.23). The results revealed that this importance was not affected by a number of different variables, as there were no statistically significant differences towards the importance of using facebook in teaching first-grade high school students from the perspective of computer teachers according to their gender and usage of facebook in teaching. The study recommended using facebook to teach computer and information technology courses in high school and holding training courses for computer teachers on the best use of facebook in education.
