The effectiveness of a cognitive counseling program to modify the university students ’attitude towards cheating in exams

Abstract
The aim of this research is to modify the attitudes of student towards cheating in exams. The research followed the quasi-experimental approach. For the purpose of collecting data, a questionnaire was used by the researcher, indicating the level of trend towards fraud, and the research was applied to a sample of students of the educational qualification diploma at the University of Nizwa in the academic year 2019/2020; that sample reached twenty students in an experimental group The results showed a decline in the level of trend towards cheating among female students after applying the program at a statistically significant level D. The research also recommended that teachers and lecturers use methods of discussion and dialogue to change attitudes in general and the trend towards cheating in exams in particular.
