Abstract
Objectives: The study aimed to measure the effectiveness of a group counseling program to improve the emotional intelligence skills of early education teachers in Muscat Governorate. Methods: The study adopted the quasi-experimental approach, and the study sample consisted of (32) early education teachers. The study used the emotional intelligence scale to measure the emotional intelligence skills of early education teachers. The study also built a guidance program and applied it to the study subjects to achieve its objectives. Results: The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences between the experimental and control groups in the post-measurement on the emotional intelligence scale in favor of the experimental group, while no significant differences appeared between the post- and follow-up measurements among the experimental group members, which indicates the effectiveness of the applied guidance program in developing emotional intelligence after the tracking period. Conclusions: The study recommended applying the guidance program to early education teachers, and also suggested including emotional intelligence skills in training and qualification programs for teachers in specialized institutes and universities.
