Abstract
Objectives: The current study aimed to verify the effectiveness of Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) based on a training program in developing self-efficacy among eighth-grade science teachers in the Sultanate of Oman. Methods: The study sample consisted of twenty-eight eighth-grade female teachers who were divided equally between the experimental and control study groups. To achieve the goal of the study, the researchers applied a self-efficacy questionnaire to the teachers in both groups to collect data before and after the program training. Results: The results of the study indicated that there were statistically significant differences at a significance level of (alpha less than 0.05) between the average scores of the experimental and control groups in the self-efficacy questionnaire in favor of the experimental group due to the program training. Conclusions: Considering these results, the study presented some recommendations and proposals.
