Standardization of the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS) for Career Guidance Specialists in Sultanate of Oman

Abstract
Objectives: This study aims to standardize the Career Adaptability Scale for the Omani context, examine its validity and psychometric properties, and provide a normative benchmark that can be used to interpret individual scores on the Career Adaptability Scale and apply them in educational settings, as well as in psychological and career counseling and guidance. Methods: To achieve the objectives of the study, a descriptive methodology was employed. The study sample consisted of 400 career guidance specialists in Oman. The Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (Porfeli and Savickas, 2012) was used, which was translated into Arabic. Results: The results of the study revealed that the Omani version of the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale has high psychometric properties, and its compatibility with the international version was established. Confirmatory factor analysis indicated a good model fit. Conclusions: The study recommended that the Vocational Adaptability Scale- Omani Version can be considered a valid and reliable tool for measuring vocational adaptability.
