The level of Positive Thinking among Professional Football Players in Palestine

Abstract
Objectives: This study aimed to identify the level of positive thinking among professional football players in Palestine, as well as according to the variables (type of professionalism, playing experience, playing position). Methods: The researchers used the descriptive analytical method, and the positive thinking scale was applied to athletes, and the researchers used the appropriate statistical analysis, the study sample consisted of (257) players from professional football clubs in the northern governorates of Palestine. Results: The results of the study were as follows: The level of positive thinking among players was very high, and the results showed differences in the level of positive thinking attributed to the variable of type of professionalism, and the presence of differences in the total degree of positive thinking attributed to the variable of playing experience in favor of (from 5 to 10 years), and the absence of differences in the areas of positive thinking (optimism, self-efficacy, emotional intelligence, and flexibility) attributed to the variable of playing position, and the presence of differences in the areas of positive thinking, and the presence of differences in the areas of positive thinking (self-control, and positive self-talk) attributed to the variable of playing position and in favor of the goalkeeper in self-control, attack and defense for positive self-talk. Conclusions: The study recommended the following: The necessity of continuing to pay attention to positive thinking among professional football players in Palestine due to its importance in improving the level of players and achieving the required results, inviting clubs to hold workshops and training to develop positive thinking and its dimensions among players, the necessity of paying attention to the psychological aspect and allocating a psychological trainer for each team.
