Abstract
Objectives: This study aimed to identify the level of burnout among female student guides in the general education stages in the Hail region, and to reveal the correlation between the level of burnout and their work pressures. Methods: The study adopted the descriptive analytical approach to achieving its objectives. The researcher prepared a scale for psychological burnout and a scale for the work pressures that female student guides are exposed to. The study scales were applied electronically to a sample of (178) female student guides in all public education schools (primary, intermediate, and secondary) for females in the Hail region. Results: The results of the study showed that the level of burnout among female student counselors in public schools in the Hail region was (average) in all dimensions of the scale. The results also indicated the existence of a (strong) positive correlation statistically significant at the significance level (0.05) between all dimensions of burnout and work pressures among female student counselors. The results also showed statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05) in the responses of the study sample members regarding burnout and its relationship to work pressures attributed to the variable of educational stage, and the differences were in favor of secondary school counselors. Conclusions: The researcher recommended a number of recommendations, the most important of which are: Holding continuous training courses for student guides in modern student guidance and counseling methods; reducing the workload on student guides in secondary school; and increasing their number in each secondary school.
