Economic Factors and their Implications on Financing Higher Education in Sultanate of Oman as Perceived by Faculty Members

Abstract
This study aims to identify the economic factors and their implications on the financing of higher education in the Sultanate of Oman. It intends to develop a proposed vision to deal with the economic changes and its challenges. A descriptive approach was adopted and a questionnaire was utilized, data were collected from (100) faculty members working in colleges and universities in Sultanate of Oman. The data were analyzed statistically through SPSS. The results of the study sample show that challenges associated with financing of higher education in the Sultanate of Oman were more common, among the faculty members, than the technological challenges. The study concluded with a number of recommendations that can contribute to facing economic changes and their impact on financing higher education.
