Abstract
Objectives: This paper aims to define such an environment by describing its characteristics. Methods: The researchers used the Grounded Theory approach in qualitative research to analyze the data collected from (85) primary and early learning female teachers who attended an online three-day Assessment for Learning workshop in Riyadh. Results: Results showed seven assertions that describe a safe learning environment: physical function, fear free, learner empowerment, peer power, teacher empowerment, skill-building instruction and assessment, and professional development. Conclusions: These assertions gave a detailed description of the safe learning environment that would facilitate the best teaching and learning experiences and would give the best learning outcomes when applying assessment for learning strategies in classrooms.
