The Family Environment and Its Relationship to Some Psychological Disorders and Deviant Behaviors - A Field Study on a Sample of Vocational Education Students in Tripoli, North Lebanon

Abstract
Objectives: The current study aimed to identify the family environment and its relationship to the emergence of some psychological disorders and deviant behaviors among a group of public vocational education students in Lebanon. Methods: The study adopted the descriptive and correlational approaches. The sample was determined purposively, and the study was applied to a sample of (305) students from public technical schools and institutes. The equation (Seta, 2016) has been used to determine the sample size. Results: The results showed no statistically significant relationship at the level (alpha = 0.05) between the family environment, psychological disorders, and deviant behaviors. The statistical significance value (sig) for the results of the one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was equal to (0.091), which indicates no relationship between the family environment, psychological disorders, and deviant behaviors. The overall arithmetic mean value for the psychological disorders and deviant behaviors scale was (2.60). Conclusions: In light of these findings, the study presented some recommendations, including the need to satisfy adolescents' psychological needs and ensure psychological stability. It also suggested conducting further research on the mechanism for providing psychological and social support programs for adolescents in schools and vocational settings.
