Abstract
The study aimed to identify the training needs necessary to raise the efficiency of primary school principals from their point of view ,and identify the obstacles that prevent the holding of training programs necessary to raise the efficiency of school principals in the light of contemporary administrative thought, The study sample consisted of (121) principals in some educational departments in Dakahlia governorate, The researcher used a questionnaire to collect data, and the study was based on the descriptive approach, The study found that the need for primary school principals to train in self-skills, technical skills, human skills, managerial skills, organizational skills, There are no statistically significant differences between school principals in their training needs due to the scientific qualification - experience - the number of training courses before and during the service, The reasons for the holding of training programs for school principals vary, and some recommendations are presented.
