A Program Based on the Professional Learning Communities’ Approach and its Efficiency in the Development of Creative Teaching Skills and Self-Efficacy among Islamic Education Teachers in Tabuk

Abstract
Objectives: The current study aimed to build a program based on the professional learning communities' approach and its efficiency in the development of creative teaching skills and self-efficacy among Islamic education teachers in at the intermediate stage. Methods: The study has adopted the analytical descriptive approach, and the experimental approach of one-group semi-experimental design (pre-post). In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the variables of the study were studied and analyzed and the basics for building the proposed program based on professional learning communities were concluded, with the inclusion of its objectives and scientific content, methods of processing and assessment of the participating teacher's performance. The sample of the current study consisted of (24) teachers of Islamic education, randomly selected in four schools at the intermediate stage in the schools of the General Administration of Tabuk Education, Tabuk Educational District. Results: One of the most important findings of the current study, and indeed one of the most significant results of the study, was the presence of statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the teachers in the experimental group in the pre-test and post-test of the Creative Teaching Skills Observation Card as a whole and for each skill individually. These differences were in favor of the post-test scores. Similar statistically significant differences were observed in both the pre-test and post-test of the Self-Efficacy Scale as a whole, and for each of its dimensions individually, also in favor of the post-test scores. The study also demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed program based on professional learning communities in developing creative teaching skills and enhancing self-efficacy. Furthermore, the results revealed a statistically significant positive correlation between teachers' scores on the post-test of the Creative Teaching Skills Observation Card and their scores on the Self-Efficacy Scale. Conclusions: The study recommended the necessity of utilizing professional learning communities by educational leaders and supervisors to enhance the performance of Islamic education teachers. It also suggested training teachers to use them as specialized groups in self or collaborative professional development within each school or among schools. Additionally, the study recommended training Islamic education teachers in creative teaching skills.
