Abstract
Objectives: The study aims to examine the Sharia objectives in the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)'s ijtihad in dealing with the prisoners of the Battle of Badr, focusing on achieving a balance between the rights of prisoners and the rights of the community. It also seeks to highlight the role of Islamic principles in safeguarding human rights and their alignment with international standards, such as the Geneva Conventions. Methodology: The study adopts an analytical comparative approach, exploring Islamic texts and the Prophet's biography related to prisoners. It analyzes the objectives of Sharia and compares them with humanitarian principles in international agreements, particularly the Geneva Conventions. Conclusion: The study demonstrates that the Prophet (PBUH)'s approach to dealing with the prisoners of Badr reflects a humane model that balances the protection of prisoners' rights and the community's interests. It highlights the role of Sharia objectives in ensuring prisoners' rights in line with humanitarian values. The study also discusses the importance of negotiation and exchange mechanisms in handling prisoners to achieve public interest. It concludes with the need to reinforce Islamic values to align Sharia objectives with international practices.
