Abstract

Objectives: The study seeks to examine the rhetorical arts and stylistic devices of 'Ilm al-Ma'ānī as they appear in selected verses from Sūrat al-'Ankabūt, to elucidate their rhetorical purposes, and to highlight the manifestations of Qur'anic eloquence and inimitability reflected through these expressive forms Relating it to the overarching objective of the surah. Methods: This study adopts the descriptive-analytical approach, with careful citation of Qur'anic verses and proper documentation of references. The research is structured into an introduction, two main sections, a conclusion, and recommendations. Conclusions: The study shows that understanding Quranic rhetoric requires knowledge of linguistics and the science of textual contexts ('Ilm al-Munāsabāt). The objectives of the surah are closely linked to its opening and closing, as well as to surrounding verses. The surah predominantly employs a narrative style, illustrating its theme of trial (ibtilā') and depicting the challenges faced along the path of every call to guidance.
