Abstract

Objectives: This study aims to clarify the true stance of liberalism toward religion and the Holy Qur'an. Methods: The study adopted the inductive method, whereby the researcher traced the ideas of the liberals from their sources and consulted as many of their works as possible, providing a comprehensive understanding of the research's purpose and intent. It also employed the analytical method, through analyzing the ideas as expressed by their originators and clarifying their objectives. Conclusions: The study concludes that liberalism represents an intellectual perspective incompatible with Islamic principles and lacking sound scholarly and objective evidence. It recommends intensifying critical studies that expose the weaknesses of liberal thought and highlight the authenticity of the Islamic methodology in dealing with religious texts and their objectives.
