Abstract

The current study aimed to determine the characteristics and specifications of special education teacher to work with people with special needs (mental-audio- visual-physical) in light of the characteristics of students with special needs, to achieve this objective researcher defining the concept of disability and their ratings and their psychological and physical and mental characteristics and specifications that must characterize the teacher to deal with this category of those characteristics that characterize this class, built to identify those characteristics included specifications and validated, and then apply Sample questionnaire amounted to 91special needs teachers and faculty members in faculties of education of specialists in mental health and special education, curricula and teaching methods, and the importance of these characteristics and specifications for special education teacher, and the need to include teacher programmes and decisions of these categories.
